This island is the southernmost of the Sea Islands, a chain of barrier islands stretching along the East Coast from South Carolina to Florida.

The Pelicans Condominiums have direct ocean access. The seashore has wonderful surprises for all who take the time to see. Watch the graceful pelicans as they soar the skies. Look for the signs of Loggerhead turtles who nest here in May and hatch from August through September. Find treasures, such as shells and shark teeth, that the sea brings each day.

Enjoy a sunrise that is always different or just take a walk on the beach in the glow of a warm sunset.

The summers are long and the winters are short. The average temperature over the course of the year varies from 46°F to 91°F and is rarely below 33°F or above 96°F. The best time of the year to visit Amelia Island are from late March to mid May and from mid October to mid November.

What to Do

There is plenty to do on Amelia Island. You will find some of the finest golf courses and spas almost in front of the door of the Pelican Condos. A short drive north visit Historic Fernandina Beach or stop over to check out the Fort at the Ft. Clinch park. In the evening, after a relaxing day at the beach, check out the river cruise and enjoy one of our spectacular sunsets.

"We had a wonderful time. Our 2 bedroom 2 bath condo was beautifully renovated, fully equipped, spacious, had a great view from the balcony, and it was just a short walk to the beach. The condo is clean and very well taken care of. It's also very quiet considering all of the families that stay there with young children. Nice and relaxing and just what we wanted for our vacation! We spent a lot of time on the beach. It was nice and not over crowded. We were sad to leave! We are looking forward to visiting again real soon."
